A Singaporean warship arrived in Da Nang on Thursday on a four-day visit to Vietnam with multiple activities to take place.
The RSS Intrepid stealth frigate is being docked at Tien Sa Port, carrying a crew of 150 officers and sailors led by Captain Joseph Neo, Commanding Officer at the Singapore Naval Academy.
Crews from both countries are expected to participate in search and rescue drills and train in utilizing international flags, blinking lights and radio signaling, before the Singaporean naval ship departs on April 29.
Cultural exchanges and volleyball matches will also be held for the sailors from Vietnam’s Third Naval Region – covering the waters along central Vietnam – and from the RSS Intrepid.

The frigate is one of Singapore’s six Formidable-class multi-role ships, equipped with modern armaments like anti-air missiles and cruise missiles.
Launched in 2004 and commissioned in 2008, she is over 114 meters long, more than 16 meters wide, and can travel at the maximum speed of 27 nautical miles (50 kilometers) per hour.
